Li Gengmin is a contemporary Chinese painter whose works exist between reality and imagination. He transforms familiar subjects into scenes that invite curiosity rather than certainty.

Drawing inspiration from both Chinese and international artistic traditions, Li balances classical foundations with a contemporary perspective. His paintings are rich in carefully considered details and subtle metaphors, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and discover new layers of meaning with each encounter.

Li believes that a painting should first be experienced with the heart before it is interpreted by the mind. Rather than imposing a fixed narrative, he leaves space for each viewer to discover their own meaning, allowing every encounter with the work to become personal and unique.
